You don't need any previous experience, just enthusiasm to try something new!
We will explore the basics of Aikido in our safe and friendly dojo. Aikido is a non-competitive Japanese martial art. The techniques of Aikido depend not on physical strength, but on circular motions that blend with the energy of the attacker. There are no physical boundaries such as being tall or short, big or small, young or old , or whether you’re male or female!
During this 6 week period, you will learn how to avoid impact from attacks, falling and rolling safely, and the fundamental techniques of Aikido. You will also notice improved coordination, strength, confidence, flexibility and mental wellbeing.
No previous experience is required, just bring comfortable clothing (active wear), a bottle of water, motivation and friends!
“Give Aikido a go! You may find someone new in yourself, I look forward to seeing you on the mat”
Your teacher (Sensei) will be Raymond Sim Sandan (3rd degree black belt).
Aikido is often referred to as Budo, which means a martial way or path. This is the beginning of a journey, take that first step.
